The History Of The International Ice Hockey Federation

The International Ice Hockey Federation is a federation in reference to international ice hockey and inline hockey for men and women. It was founded on May 15th, 1908 in Paris, France so it recently celebrated its 100th year anniversary. The federation controls the rulebook, the transfer of international players, and official hockey guidelines. It takes over ice hockey when it is played in the Winter Olympics. It is also over the World Championships of all levels. These levels include men, women, juniors under-20, juniors under-18 and women under-18 divisions. They usually do about 25 world championships in five different categories. (more…)
